Graduate

Graduate grade membership is appropriate for individuals who hold a Level 3 Diploma or equivalent in a fire subject that includes at least 370 hours of study and have worked within the fire sector for at least three years.

The Branch Membership Committee will consider applications, endorse them if necessary, and then forward them to the Membership Section of the IFE for final review and consideration. Candidates meeting the qualifications will be notified of their election by the Branch Membership Chair and will receive an annual subscription invoice.

Application Process

To apply for the grade of Graduate with the IFE, email the following to membership@ife-usa.org:

  1. A Completed Member Application Form
  2. Initial Professional Development (IPD) Report
  3. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Report

CPSE FIRE OFFICER (FO) DESIGNEES
The US Branch has a reciprocal agreement with the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE) to award membership to current designees holding certificates for Fire Officer (FO). A shortened Graduate membership application form is provided for this purpose.

To apply for the grade of Graduate with the IFE, and you are a CPSE Fire Officer Designee, email the following to membership@ife-usa.org:

Annual Subscription Fee

An annual subscription fee of $153.00 will be collected each year on January 1.

Diploma

Candidates elected to membership in the IFE with grades of Technician, Graduate, Associate, Member, Fellow, and Affiliate Organization receive diplomas recognizing their professional accomplishment. 

Post-Nominal Letters

Technicians of the IFE also benefit from esteemed professional recognition in the global fire sector through the use of the post-nominal GIFireE.
